
Dr. Jessie Koh, DPsy (Clinical)
*Doctor of Clinical Psychology, Registered Clinical Psychologist Singapore, Registered Clinical SupervisorDr. Koh, a Singaporean-Chinese, is an Australian-trained clinical psychologist. She holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from UQ Australia, a Master of Clinical Psychology, a Post-Graduate Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She completed the Australia board-approved Clinical Supervisory training providing supervision to students and mental health professionals.
Dr. Koh works primarily with adults (individuals and couples). Dr. Koh’s areas of special interest include depression, general/social anxiety, panic attacks, anger management, stress management, communication skills, conflict management, co-dependency, retirement refocus, emotion regulation difficulties, relationship and interpersonal difficulties, grief and loss or adjustment issues, problems of desire and motivation, career/change adjustment, relocation (expat) - adjustment, transition, and cultural challenges.
Using a practice access that is both evidence-based and client-driven, Dr. Koh's approach to therapy and counselling tends to be eclectic with strong focus on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and integration of research-based mindfulness interventions.
Dr. Koh's postgraduate training experience extended to both the private practice and medical/psychiatric facilities including Raffles Hospital Singapore (Counselling Centre), The Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital (RBWH) Australia (Mental health: acute care, outpatient, and community service & The Burns Unit: acute care), and a local Singapore Community Social Service. At the Australian university clinic, she trained and supervised doctorate students of Clinical Psychology & Clinical Geropsychology in the mental health program for the community. Dr. Koh completed the renowned International Coach Federation (ICF) approved Associate & Professional Coach Levels program. Similarly, Dr. Koh joins the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Hong Kong, a Psychosocial Support Referral Network for the region Singapore/Malaysia.
Besides clinical work, Dr. Koh is a visiting lecturer at the local Singapore university and at corporate companies. Dr. Koh served on the advisory board of a non-profit sports management consultancy promoting local/international athletes and obtained a Sports coaching certification with the Singapore Coach Excellence.
With over 25 years of work experience, Dr. Koh lived more than a decade in Germany, 5 years in the Middle East, and several years in the Eastern Europe, Australia, and Malaysia. Similarly, she had worked extensively in areas of corporate management, organisational and people development, and coaching. Dr. Koh, a Singaporean Chinese, born and raised in Singapore speaks English, Mandarin, German, and Chinese dialects.
